I want to know How I can convert the Lines output from an alembic file I'm loading from a canvas graph into a maya object so I can render directly without being meshed?
Hi @JM Kin Tela you'll need to expose a Vec3 output port and plug a Vec3 into it and then drive a locator just to force the evaluation. Then you'll need to get a EmptyDrawingHandle node and plug into a DrawLines node and plug those together and then plug them into the exec port.

Hi Eric!, thanks! ,
I have already the lines DrawLine working and the lines are showing on the viewport,
but I need to have an object to render this lines as hairs in redshift... I expose the output lines,
but I don't know if I have to connect them to something else.. my question is to which object I assign the shader in the end,
because I can't do it to the canvas node right?
Hi @JM Kin Tela , you definitely need to connect it to a maya curve if you want to be able to render it
thanks, @Ahmidou but how do I do that?, what object I need to create in the node editor, I tried a bunch of them with curve names, but I don't know.
@JM Kin Tela
Please see the attached Maya scene for this. You can have a Line or Lines output port and connect it to the create port on a nurbs curve. However Maya is a bit finnicky about this and you may need to script the connection like so:
import maya.cmds as cmds
Nice Eric! , thanks!
